Saudi royal-owned purebred Arabian horse wins dirt race at Dubai World Cup 2018

DUBAI, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Seven-year-old purebred Arabian horse Tallab Al Khalediah, owned by Saudi royal family member Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz and ridden by jockey Roberto Perez, won race two of the 2018 Dubai World Cup here on Saturday.

The Saudi prince's stables completed the 2,000 meter Mubadala race on the dirt track of the Meydan Racecourse in two minutes and 13.68 seconds, to cash in 600,000 dollars worth of prize money.

Jockey Perez said after the race that "I studied the other horses and their jockey by watching their previous races. I was confident that my horse can win this race."

Tallab Al Khalediah passed the finishing line ahead of its British rival Chaddad and Barnamaj from France.

The 23rd edition of the annual Dubai World Cup is the the richest horse race of the globe, distributing combined cash prizes of 30 million dollars across nine races.
