BERLIN, July 19 (Xinhua) -- German law enforcers on Thursday arrested a Syrian national suspected of having recruited members or supporters for the Islamic State (IS) and participating in the organization himself, authorities said.
According to the Federal Prosecutor General at the Federal Court of Justice, the apartment of the suspect, 22-year-old Esmail AA, which is located in the state of Saxony, has been searched.
The arrest warrant said the suspect described himself as a "media worker" and in this function has since September 2017 disseminated numerous propaganda publications of the foreign extremist organization IS via social media services.
